19/05/12: Eddi and Hatti’s mother Marli is also not doing so well at Montse’s as she also does not like all the other cats. Her response is more aggressive, and she is doing a lot of hissing and hitting, so I am hoping to move her quickly to Germany as well. For now however I am happy that I know she is also being very well looked after by Montse. Marli is much more confident than her girls, and is a playful little madam that loves people. She always came rushing up to see me for attention every time I visited. She has one small problem in that her left eye is damaged. Miguel believes this is an old injury and that her eye has been pierced by something, causing a displacement of her pupil and scar tissue. The good news is that she definitely still has some sight in it and it doesn’t seem to cause her a problem.
18/05/12: Time to meet Eddi and Hatti (9 months) who came to me from Murcia! This is way out of my normal area for re-homing but I could not ignore their plight or that of their mother Marli. All 3 were abandoned by their English family, and their neighbour who had taken them in had tried for months to find a local rescue to help them, before she too returned to the Uk to live. I was able to take them just in time, and after 2 weeks in my emergency cat room, they are now settling in at Montse’s cat rescue in Almeria. I am happy they are safe and that we more street kittens have been avoided as both girls were pregnant! Montse’s however is not ideal as they are very quiet, gentle girls, and being surrounded by so many cats is quite frightening for them. Better news is that I have a foster home waiting in Germany for them, and hope to get them away 15.06 if we have enough animals to run this transport.
They will definitely find a home together as these sisters are very close. Eddi has slightly more black on her face and is the more confident. She cuddles right around her sister when Hatti is afraid, and whilst they were with me Hatti even called her back to protect her once. Both love to be stroked once they feel confident and purred and talked to me a lot. I fell for them completely and understand why Sam who rescued them was so desperate to help them.
