20/02/13: Luki and Mimi have a new friend as of the 09.02 transport! Mika is another lovely cat from SOS Pechina, and he has had a very bad time recently. I first saw him there maybe 3 months ago and he had just had his right eye removed due to injury. He was in the big pen with the other cats and seemed terrified and also completely aggressive and feral. Victor told me that Mika had been left at Pechina by his previous owner, maybe because of his injury, and was actually a lovely cuddle cat. This was not the cat I saw on that first day, but over the weeks he became less stressed and more approachable, but was still sad. I was therefore very very happy that Luki and Mimi’s Mum decided to give Mika a home, and that all is just fine now. [Read more…]
19/01/13: Mimi is a very beautiful, 4 year old, previously owned cat. She was bought as a kitten by her Spanish parents and was much loved by them. Her Mum Maria contacted me about 3 weeks ago quite stressed because she is pregnant and her doctor had told her that Mimi MUST go. This is a common situation in Spain. The doctors believe there is a big risk to unborn babies from cat poo. In England and Germany certainly we believe this risk to be low and very easily managed. Noone would consider giving up their cats, but in Spain the doctors mostly do not consider the cats and give very strong advice. Maria and her husband were in tears when they handed Mimi over to Pauline. She had been very well looked after and fully pass-ported, so fortunately I was able to send her to Germany quickly on the last transport. Mimi is now being fostered by big Micki’s lovely Mum and is looking very relaxed in her photos from Germany. We are certain to find a new home for this wonderful cat quickly, so she will be fine. I am just sorry for Maria that she believed she had to do this. [Read more…]
19/09/12: Latest news and photos have come re. Tonyko, now called Romeo: “Yes, he is sitting on the washing table if she brush her teeth, he is sitting on her lap if she is sitting on the toilet and he is sleeping under her blanket if she go to bed… I answered her that he is a good option instead of a man and less difficult… ;o)” It seems that he REALLY loves his new Mum. She is a nail designer and in the last photo Tonyko looks like he is waiting for her to paint his! [Read more…]
15/09/12: Now I have Kerstin’s photos from Mimi’s arrival in her foster home. She does look great. She is however being a little witch to Tonyko who wants to cuddle her AND she HATES the lovely dog, so this will I am sure just be a foster home until the right family is found for her, with hopefully another sporty kitten!
14/09/12: Mimi travelled to Germany on Saturday’s transport where for now she is still a foster kitten. She has a new friend Tonyko, who is a lovely sweet boy cat, of about 8 months, re-homed from Almeria. Mimi is “fine and crazy“, which is just like her, so there is nothing to worry about. She is looking gorgeous in these new photos, and seems comfortable with her new housemate! [Read more…]
28/07/12: Mimi is a lovely, cuddly rescue cat from the Mojacar area sponsored by PAWs. She came to the garden of a kind English lady, who fed her and gave her a temporary home. Sylvia, however, did not want to keep Mimi because she was too playful for her much older cats. She therefore traveled to Germany on the last transport to join FiV cat Cooper, in his foster home, as Mimi unfortunately also has FiV. In the last week Cooper has moved to his forever home, so now Mimi will hopefully soon get a new housemate. She really is a lovely friendly girl and has settled extremely well. Yesterday Kerstin sent me the latest photos. You can also see in the gallery below, the photos of her first night in Germany, when Mimi was less concerned about eating after her long journey, and more interested in getting the best place on the sofa, and her first photos taken by Sylvia in Spain, some with her grand-daughter.
