Remember when Fido was your only best friend? Much to your pet’s dismay, there’s a new sidekick in town. An IDC study reports 63 percent of smartphone owners have their devices by their side for all but one hour during the day. This means your four-legged friend has to share your company with a less-fluffy pocket partner. Luckily, there’s room for two trusted allies in your life. These pet-friendly apps help keep your real best friend safe and happy:
On a recent transport to the UK we transported a dog for it’s owner. The pet passport and microchip were registered to the person here in Spain, and we were transporting it to the same person to their UK address. Totally correct paperwork for the PETS Scheme i.e. no change of ownership, reason for the transport necessitated by a change in circumstance to the owner not the dog, microchip registration in the persons name, and the Declaration to transport their animal completed.

Just been speaking to someone from the Office of Fair Trading because somebody in Germany had complained to the AHVLA that we imported a dog to the UK last December that didn’t have the necessary Health Certificate.
The fact that the person making the complaint was in Germany and didn’t give the name of the dog makes it very very very likely that this is a personal vendetta (again) a view reinforced by the officer I spoke to who said that a huge amount of the complaints they receive regards Animal Transporters appear to be of a personal nature.
Anyway as far as our December Transport was concerned, once again all our paperwork was in order, and as usual we are able to prove it.
A New Year it may be but we are still getting a lot of questions regarding when people have to use TRACES and when they can use the PETS Scheme.
For now though I will attempt to provide a very clear, very simple, clarification on when the two schemes should be used.
