These beautiful cats all belonged to a lovely English lady who had rescued them all over a period of time. She contacted me desperate to find them homes before she had to go back to the UK to look for work. She had had a terrible year, losing her job, having her power cut off, and having to move in with a friend. Her cats were alone in her empty apartment and time was running out. All were lovely tame cats and apart from 4 year old Poppy, all were 7 years old and becoming increasingly distressed by their circumstances.
They were actually easy to help as a lot of people in Germany are actually looking for older cats and we mostly have kittens and youngsters. Bob and Kenzo the brothers found homes within a week, and Lou Lou soon after. Then Kenzo’s family agreed to foster Poppy for us while we searched for a forever home for her, and not surprisingly fell for her charms and are now adopting her too. All 4 travelled to Germany at the end of February and all are doing fine.
I only met them for 2 nights when they stayed in my foster room just before the transport. I was most worried about Bob. I knew he had been pining and had lost a lot of weight, but he was even more emaciated than I expected and very withdrawn. All however is now fine. He lives with another older cat and his 2 Dads are very caring and experienced cat men! He is now eating them out of house and home, has been checked ok by their vet, and is slowly gaining weight.
Lou Lou is settling more slowly and keeps asking to go out, so I await more information from her previous owner. Meanwhile Kenzo and Poppy are very happy. Kenzo is the cool cat and Poppy the little madam, and both are very loved.
I am very happy to have been able to help these lovely cats, without the need for them to go into a rescue home or cattery. I wish them all well in their new lives. Enjoy these photos taken in Spain, and look out for new ones from Germany soon.
