I have already introduced you to beautiful Capuchina, who is now settling into her new home in Germany. Well, she has 4 lovely little kittens, who are still in foster care here.
3 are more siam-mix, 2 boys and 1 girl, and the last little girl is a very cute black and white. The boys already have adoptants waiting for them in Germany, and the girls are reserved for Katzenherzen, but as these kids were only born in mid October, they are not ready to travel yet.
We also have the slight problem that these kittens, whilst beautiful, are quite feral, and despite Tracey’s best efforts they are making very slow progress, towards being more sociable. My next plan is to try and mix them in pairs with some more sociable kittens, that I am expecting in the next week from Mojacar.
I hope this works as, whilst the adoptants are expecting ‘nervous’ kittens, I am hoping they will have come on more before they travel. Thick gloves are still needed to initially handle them, and Kev and I were well bloodied last time, and are stealing ourselves for our next trip to the vet with these little charmers!
This raises again the question of what to do with feral kittens. Generally I cannot home ferals but as these are siam-mix, they have a big plus going for them, and are far more likely to attract an adoptant. We will persevere as they are definitely beautiful.
