01/04/13: Yesterday I received some lovely new photos from Germany of big Gino and his NEW friend Tom. Sadly some months ago little Rex has to be put to sleep because of FIP. Gino remained healthy, and in January another lovely young male cat called Tom joined Gino in his forever home to be his new friend. Tom actually came from the same private rescue home in Almeria as Gino, but he arrived there after Gino travelled to Germany, so the 2 didn’t meet here in Spain. In Germany they have become firm friends, and I am sure their rescuer here will love the fact that 2 of her boys now live together. Along with the photos came this lovely message written by Tom! The boys are having a great time running and playing which is no surprise as Tom was very playful here too. What is more of a surprise is that 5 year old Gino, who was not active at all in the rescue home, is now such a sporty man!
“I like my new home very much. I settled in from the first moment and felt at home. My new friend Gino’s also the best thing that ever happened to me. He also came from Spain, and was arranged by you. Our main activity is raging – raging through the house until it shakes. We know no boundaries. Apparently we do not need to 🙂
Sometimes I sit and watch the humans bathe. Water is something really great. I think at some point I may jump into the tub too:-) So far, I can only play with the water in the kitchen at the sink. Right now the yard and garden is sorted, so that in the summer we can stay safe out there and play. I’m happy. Children were there, too. They are great. We can play and cuddle with them too. I feel really super good. People always say that I am a handsome young man. What I do not like so much is that I can not get outside, but according to the promises that will change soon. Thank you for arranging where I am and the chance of a family life.”Â
Enjoy the latest photos and some earlier ones of Tom here in Spain.

10/05/12: Gino is another beautiful cat rescued by Montse from the streets of Almeria. I met him to take photos and thought he was completely gorgeous. He is siam-mix in colour, but in shape he is more like an English cat. Gino is a big boy, and at Montse’s was very into his food. He is almost 4 years old but now has a younger friend Rex to help keep him active and in shape. Rex is another Almeria cat from the Alondra Dupont protectora. He is less than a year old and more of a slim Spanish boy. I did wonder how they would get on together but the latest photos from Germany show 2 very happy cats that seem to be friends already. Both travelled on the 27.04 transport and met for the first time in their new home.
Their adoptants are very happy with them. Within 2 hours of arriving both were on the sofa for cuddles. Rex still being a kitten was VERY cuddly and playful from the start . Gino was a little more reserved at first but after 2 days was playing with the toys alone, and then later playing with Rex. He wasn’t too sure at first when Rex wanted to cuddle up to him, but he is slowly accepting his little friend more. Rex I think is more used to being surrounded by other cats. Gino was only at Montse’s for a few weeks before he travelled. It is easy to see why this very handsome boy found his family so quickly. Enjoy the photos of the new friends.
