31/07/12: Since my last update a lot has happened in Mila’s world. On 15.07 Mindy arrived from Spain to be MaPu’s new foster cat and Mila became so angry, even attacking MaPu, that Mindy for now is with Yvonne instead. Then a few days ago MaPu wrote that Mila had been allowed to go outside for the last 10 days and was more relaxed. “No fight with Ramazotti and Simba, very good for my poor boys. I can kiss her nose and her belly, and I can stroke her everywhere when the little madam is relaxed, but of course she is still a little witch.” The latest news today is that after pretending to be Rapunzel in her tower, Mila has found her prince. She will be an only cat for Dad Michel, but she will have a garden and cat friends outside if she wants to sociable. This sounds perfect and Mila will move in the nexk few days.
08/07/12: I’ve just added even more lovely photos of Mila to the gallery. This time she is enjoying her new bed donation, and just enjoying being healthy. MaPu however may soon be putting her on a fitness regime, as she seems to be getting even fatter!
04/07/12: I’ve just added the latest photos of Mila to the gallery below. As MaPu says, she is now ‘back to life!’ Well done to MaPu and her wonderful vet for all the love and care, and to all the people who have donated to help with Mila’s rather large vet bill.
30/06/12: This morning MaPu took Mila very early to Dr. Streicher to have her stitches removed. She was very brave and good and no sedation was needed. All is well and she is now healthy and ready for her new life. She seems very happy and even let a rather brave Ramazotti lick her head when she returned home to MaPu’s. Now all she needs is for the fur to grow back over her scar and she will be completely gorgeous again!!! Enjoy her latest photos.

26/06/12: MaPu sent me some new photos of our little patient 2 days ago with the news that Mila was doing very well, but was demanding lots of cuddles, and was preferring to be carried rather than walk! This may now have changed, because the latest photo I received last night was of the sexy red jacket without escapologist Mila!
23/06/12: Mila had her operation to correct her condition on Monday, and one of her kidneys did have to be removed. The news is good though. By the morning after the operation she was eating a little, and her blood test results were fine. The next day MaPu was allowed to take her home, and Mila was very happy, running around everywhere, saying hello, purring and eating, before stretching and going to sleep! She definitely seems to be a special survivor. In the very latest photos she is wearing her new red jacket, which she is not so happy about. This is to protect her wound and is very smart, but maybe not the most flattering look for our plump, short-legged, little girl! Mila will be back at the vet in the next few days to have her stitches out, and I am hoping for more good news.
06/06/12: Latest news of Mila is not so good. MaPu’s vet is now 90% sure Mila has a condition called ectopic ureter. She was very brave at the vet’s when she had to be shaved to have her ultrasound. This problem is normally only found in dogs, and is very serious. She will have an operation in the next week to try to correct this, but MaPu’s vet thinks one of her kidneys is now damaged. We must all hope for the best for Mila.
04/06/12: Mila has calmed down a little but continues to be a feisty little lady, despite taking zylkene to help calm her. If Ramazotti is lucky he will get a kiss on the nose and be allowed to eat in peace, but more likely Mila will be up for a game or a fight! She has unfortunately been suffering from a kidney infection, but I’m hoping for good news soon that this is now clear. MaPu has been looking after her brilliantly, and growing very fond of her, and definitely feeding her very well as these latest photos show! Life overall is pretty good for Mila.
20.05.12: Mila has a huge personality for such a tiny cat, and seems to be managing to charm us all, despite some quite bad behaviour! When I met her at Montse’s for a photo shoot she charmed me completely and I reported to Germany that here was a VERY tame friendly little girl. She IS tiny but also quite round, like a very big kitten with the cutest little face! She does however have a lot more attitude than I saw in my short time with her, and despite her small size is very willing to assert herself. She traveled to Germany on the 27.04 transport, initially to an adoptant, but then became sick after the transport and her family have decided not to keep her. She is now at foster Mum, MaPu’s where she has finished medication for her virus but is now taking Zylkene to de-stress her! and hopefully make life a little calmer for MaPu and her own cats Simba and Ramazotti.
Mila has had a very tough time and is actually lucky to be alive. Montse found her by chance, one evening on her porch, and rushed her to our vet Miguel. He believes Mila had been in Labour all day and she had one dead kitten stuck halfway out! After an emergency caesarian only Mila and baby Strupsi survived. Mila did not accept this baby as she was so ill herself and unfortunately little Stupsi only live for 2 weeks. Mila herself recovered well and I was very happy to be able to move her to Germany quickly.
Mila is actually doing really well, eating VERY well and almost making friends. MaPu loves her but has a few injuries from Mila’s first days. She still has a habit of suddenly striking out for no reason, as MaPu’s son Patrick discovered to his cost! but we hope this will change once she becomes more settled and confident. Now she has fallen in love with MaPu, who can carry her around purring on her arm! She still fights TOO HARD with Martina’s 2 cats, and hit Ramazotti hard when he was trying to give her a kiss. She is resting in these new photos after a ‘wild fight’ with Ramazotti which he maybe didn’t enjoy quite as much as she did. MaPu has called her the little Pitbull. She is fearless and charming and completely gorgeous!!!
