We have written before about the reasons why you should test your Spanish Dog for Leishmania, but a recent conversation with our vet highlighted that many are having an initial test done, but aren’t testing regularly after that.
Despite the use of Scalibor Collars, Advantix, Milbemax, etc the facts remain that your dog can still get a bite on (for example) their tail and contract Leishmania, despite all the recommended precautions.
Really can’t stress enough that it ‘just makes sense’ to get your Spanish dog tested at least every year.
