Timmy The Gentle Cuddle Cat

04/08/11: Timmy and Lucas travelled to their new home yesterday. The latest news is that they arrived well, explored a lot and then had a good sleep. All is fine in their world!!!

23/07/11: In the last week there has been fantastic new for Timmy and his little friend Lucas. A lovely young family is going to adopt them both which is great because Timmy loves little Lucas and the 2 have become firm friends. These latest photos are from their foster home juts before they left, and Timmy looks fantastic. The fur seems to have grown back on his hips and he is looking fit and strong and very happy. Poor little Lucas seems to developed a cataract in one eye, but apart from that he for now is also well. I wish them a happy life together for many years to come.

Their new home has plenty of room and a lovely balcony which is being made safe for them. Their Mum seemed very capable and understands that these 2 are more likely to have some health issues later in life. AND they have a lovely little 2 year old boy to get to know. All sounds great!

Timmy & Lucas

10/05/11: Everyone who meets Timmy loves him immediately. He is the sweetest most gentle, big cuddle boy. When he feels threatened, far from fighting he tends to curl up in a ball in the hope that he will not be hurt.

I fell for him the first time he hid his head under my arm, and I still feel very protective, even though he is now in Germany, having flown to Munich yesterday.

Timmy HAD a home with big Simba until a few weeks ago, when their English Mum had to go back to the UK to live. She actually rescued them both as kittens, and had had Timmy for 4 years. He was originally found with a broken hip as a baby, but my vet Miguel has confirmed that this appeared to have healed well. We do however think it may ache at times as he has a slightly bald patch from over cleaning that area, AND he also appears to have some hair loss through stress. Timmy hasn’t been able to be homed with his old friend Simba as unfortunately he had a positive test result, whilst Simba was healthy. I really hope that Timmy remains just a carrier, and doesn’t develop symptoms. He certainly deserves some luck.

For now he has a new friend, little Lucas, in his foster home. Kerstin sent me a message to say that they liked one another from first sight, and that Lucas followed Timmy all around, while he explored the apartment. They then disappeared under the bed together for a cat meeting!

All seems fine for now, and I hope this lovable character cat finds his forever home soon. We will miss him here.
