Balu

I have new pictures of Balu looking very well, and this from his foster Mum:
“He has a beautiful coat that shines like a piano, he talks a lot and his handsome face looks really aristocratic! Balu is still very shy and does not want to get too close. He feels most comfortable when he is not looked at. Then he rages through the house at night and plays like a wild man with Fellbällchen and balls of wool. He calls again and again for Nellie to play too. However, he does not want to play with us; when we throw him something or pull the cord to the toy he sits down and does nothing more. If he has then finished playing, he lies down in our living room in a cavity of the scratch tree and sleeps very relaxed. While it is still a long way to go, it is progress and we’re delighted.”

Balu is one of the 3 brother’s of Lucie, featured in my previous post with her cuddle boy Luc. All 4 of these kittens were pretty feral when we caught them back at the end of July, and even after nearly 4 months with us, Balu was far from tame when he travelled to Germany in November. It is great therefore to hear that he is making progress, and importantly he looks happy, in these photos and seems to have made a good cat friend.

It is always a difficult decision whether to try and re-home the more feral cats, and these 4 have been our first litter of wild kittens. It is looking like the decision to take them in has been a good one, thanks to everybody’s hard work and some very cat-loving patient homes!
