We have already delivered 3.3 tons of dog and cat food in Ukraine. But supply lines are in jeopardy. We ABSOLUTELY MUST stockpile as much food and supplies as possible, NOW!
Today, we are proud to tell you that the Network for Animals team is on the ground helping feed and rescue animal victims of the horrendous war in Ukraine!
Pet owners have had to flee their homes, leaving their beloved animals behind to fend for themselves. Forced onto streets that are often literally in flames, the animals are vulnerable, starving and terrified – and all too often, wounded. We have heard that the poor creatures are even being used as target practice by snipers!
We are finding ways to channel food to countless abandoned animals who face death by bomb blasts, airstrikes and enemy fire. Two days ago, we managed to get roughly 1.3 tons (1,300 kilograms) of food to hungry tummies, as well as provide medical supplies. Yesterday, we delivered another two tons (2,000 kilograms) of food, and today we hope to do even better.
We don’t know how much longer we can maintain our supply routes as the Russians close in. This makes what I am about to say even more URGENT: Please, donate right now to Network for Animals, while there is still a chance to rush emergency aid and food to desperate animals. We are their only hope.
We will also be sending timber to our partners in Ukraine so they can build more shelters for the animals. Right now, animals are waiting to be accepted into shelters but there is simply no space left. Only once they’ve constructed new shelters can they take in the waiting animals. We must get these supplies to our partners as fast as possible – with every passing minute, the cats and dogs left on the street are at risk of dying in this war.
This war is not going to end soon, and the animals are going to need more and more help. We must continue to stockpile food and try to find havens for the animals in safer areas, although ‘safe’ is an optimistic word during war.
The bravery of our partners on the ground is astonishing. We provide food to a shelter in Kherson where heavy fighting is taking place. Whenever there is a lull in enemy attacks, their team rushes out to feed and rescue as many animals as it can. This is deadly dangerous. Some animal rescuers have already paid the ultimate price for their devotion to their animals.
It is truly terrifying to know that the situation is getting worse every hour as Russian tanks roll into Ukrainian towns and cities, and aircraft rain death from the skies, killing ever more people and animals.
Anyone helping animals in Ukraine is in deadly danger, but terrified and totally helpless cats and dogs must not be abandoned. Your donation will help them at a time when it must surely seem as if the end of the world is upon them. Please give generously so we can continue the fight for animal lives in Ukraine.
