Great news this morning, that our big character boy Chivers from the rocks here, has found his forever home, and even better, he gets to live with his new ‘toy’ girlfriend.
Chivers travelled to Germany in March and I always knew it was going to take a little more time to find him a home as he is FIV positive. He is however a real character cat, loved by all who meet him. He lived as a stray here in Almerimar for a lot of his 6 years, but adapted really well to life inside and is now such a snuggle boy, that we are sure he must have originally had a home.
I thought a few weeks ago that his foster Mum was going to keep him, as she had definitely fallen for his charms, and emailed that he followed her round the house all day, keeping her company and ‘talking’.
Then more recently he was joined in his foster home by Ilsci, a beautiful little female of about 1 year from Hungary, also FIV positive. It seems for Chivers this was love at first sight. His foster Mum described that he had ‘hearts in his eyes’ when he saw her!
She has therefore decided to let him go with Ilsci to live with a lovely older man who will be able to give them both lots of love. They will both go to their new home in mid July.
She will then remain as a foster Mum for the German organisation and be able to help lots more cats.
And for Chivers and his new love Ilsci, I wish a long, happy and healthy life together!
