A lot of the cats that I have been re-homing in the last 2 years have of course been kittens, or 1 year old cats, because they were the kittens from the previous year! but we do of course get abandoned or lost adult cats, and some are only rescued after they have spent some years on the streets. Grison I think had had a really tough time. He was VERY thin when Montse rescued him in Almeria, and was suffering from flu like symptoms which have left him with some residual gum problems. His long-hair was completely matted, and needed mostly cutting off, and sadly he was quite afraid of people, as the streets are not kind places for stray animals.
Montse rescued him back in September, and after some weeks found him to be still easily frightened, but really a gentle, affectionate cat. Slowly she got him back to full health, and his beautiful long fur grew back. He also slowly became more confident around her, until we decided he was ready to look for his permanent home. I am happy that this didn’t take too long and that Grison was able to travel to Germany on the last transport on 13.01. He is now being totally spoilt as an only cat companion to an older lady. She is at home most of the day, has a lovely big balcony, has bought lots of things for Grison, and will give him everything he needs. The news today is that Grison feels very well, and is now sitting on the sofa with his new Mum and enjoying cuddles. She is VERY happy to have him! Good for Grison!!!
Gentle, Affectionate Grison
Always heart-warming to read about these happy endings – Grison well deserves it!
