14/03/12: Another lovely photo of 2 very close cats. This is such a happy ending for 2 very special cats!
17/12/11: Some lovely new photos have just arrived from Germany today. “Very crazy Evelina in love with the cute gentleman.”
14/12/11: On Monday I was, while in Germany, able to make a very special visit to see Kai and Evelina in their new home. All the cats that AlStrays helps to send to new lives are important to me, but I of course have a special place in my heart for the ones that were fostered in Almerimar and that I knew well, and I was therefore really pleased to see this gorgeous pair again. Evelina is still crazy, and remains leggy and Spanish looking, although of course a little bigger. She will always I think be a small but feisty girl. It was however the transformation in Kai that brought a tear to my eyes. He was SO starving and sick with bronchitis when he first came to us, and now he looks more like an English cat. He has grown and filled out a lot and looks fantastic. He is now has a big cuddle boy figure, to go with his lovely gentle personality!
His new Mum is lovely. I could see how well she loves and cares for her 2 cats as well as her beautiful little adopted son Paul whom I also met. Her older 5-year old boy loves to play with the cats, and both boys are being taught to be gentle and loving to Kai and Evelina. This week the cats had their first little foray into the garden, and already they sleep cuddled together on the sofa. Their Mum has built a lovely family, and our cats are a big part of this. I wish them all a lovely, happy life together.

Cats In Love
07/12/11: Today I received the photos that I have been waiting for, of beautiful Kai and his little Evelina in their forever home. Their new family adore them both and thank us for sending them 2 such gorgeous cats! They have been back together again for about 10 days now, and are firm friends. Evelina did hiss at Kai a bit at first as she is a little madam, but Kai was completely un-concerned and just ignored this bad behaviour. By the evening of their arrival they were already playing nicely together. Life is perfect for both. Evelina is the boss as before, and Kai is her big, gentle tolerant man!!! For me this is SO sweet as these 2 were fostered here in Almerimar and I and Pam grew to love them both.
A Matching Pair
02/11/11: Three months later and I have FANTASTIC news of Kai. He is about to be re-united with his little girlfriend Evelina. Both traveled to Germany at the end of August, and at the time I made the difficult decision to let them be separated. This was because Kai had a trial home with a lovely young male cat, which I hoped would be a great opportunity for him. His foster Mum does adore him, and so does her cat, but Kai is a little TOO playful for his new friend so she has decided not to keep him. Evelina meanwhile had found her forever home with a lovely young family in a big house with a garden, as an only cat with lots of cats friends next door. I was happy for her but sad too until this evening when MaPu sent me a ‘Surprise’email! She talked with Evelina’s new family for hours and they are now going to adopt Kai too! Well done MaPu. The family will not regret this decision I am sure as Kai IS the most gentle and adorable cat.
I await new photos of the 2 together but in the meantime here are some lovely ones of a rather bigger Kai in his foster home where he has apparently been rushing around and breaking things! “He is very social and friendly and he loves to do stupid things, AND he has lots of energy.“. As Kai has caught up on his growing and is now ‘big for his age’, I think he is going to love the garden and space in his new home.
Kai In His foster Home
30/07/11: Kai is just gorgeous, completely non-aggressive and friendly to people, cats and dogs. He was brought to me by an English lady, after he turned up in her garden just over a week ago, very thin and with bronchitis. After a week of antibiotics, rest and good food he is much better and is now part of Pam’s household for the time-being until he is ready to travel to Germany. He quickly made friends with little Evelina, seems to love Pam’s dog Rufus, and is happy to also play with big Capone, Pam’s own cat. Capone is not quite so sure but we think this may be a little to do with jealously as Capone is very fond of Evelina himself!
I am sure Kai will find a home soon. I have been able to tell Germany that this lovely boy will fit in anywhere. He just wants to be loved and taken care of!
These are some of my first photos of Kai:

What a sweet and dainty little soul. These pictures made my day. Glad a new home is on the horizon for Kai.
Handsome chap, he is going to break a few cat hearts in the future I suspect 🙂
