Animals Are Being Left Behind in the Canadian Wildfires. We Need Better Rescue Protocols!
Wildfires are burning across Canada, in the country’s worst-ever start to wildfire season. Thousands of people are being evacuated from their homes, but not much consideration is being given to the animals left behind.
In fact, Lisa Parsons, the owner of a doggy daycare in Nova Scotia, tried to evacuate 18 dogs from her facility, but was told, “If they’re humans, we have buses. If they’re dogs, it is what it is.”
