In this case, it was a bigger deal, literally – a stranded minke whale in Wellfleet Harbor in the USA.
|He appeared healthy, and the quick health assessment and blood workup we did supported that. But he strained to take each breath – whales aren’t made for this, their body weight makes it hard to get air in their lungs. We needed to try to get him back into deep water ASAP.|
