Sweep (a young male) turned up at the house of one of the PAWs ladies, Julie. Good choice! She contacted me because, although he was a lovely cat, he was causing problems among her other strays who seemed afraid of this big boy.
Sweep travelled to Germany on the March 11th transport, and his foster home found him delightful from the first. All was looking good for this cuddly boy, despite a little bit of bad luck along the way.
Sweep like a number of our other male cats rescued was diagnosed with FiV (Feline immunodeficiency), probably caught from a fight with a more aggressive feral male. He was however fit and healthy and un-symptomatic so there was no reason why he couldn’t find a good home.
A number of people had shown an interest in him, but a few days ago his forever home was confirmed and Sweep went off to meet his new family. Already i have this lovely email. All sounds great, and he has 2 children to play with him!
“All is just fine. Sweep – now Mowgli – is great. After two restless nights (he was so accustomed to sleeping in bed) he has got used to his own bed without hesitation. Now he is super happy in there, and does not meow at night any more if we shut the bedroom door. It really is all good. He is just as expected, funny and very trainable. Real fun with him. My husband is fond, Jürgen totally impressed and Kati loves him dearly, and we play alternately with toys, corks and long shoelaces with him, as Mowgli is raging like crazy through the living room.”
Another cat who seems to have fallen on his paws!!!
