06/04/13: AND today a lovely new photo arrived of Lilly with Livio, the latest member of the family! Lovely to see her looking her gorgeous self. Apparently Lilly is ‘fascinated’ by the new arrival!
24/03/12: AND today a photo of lilly arrived with her Dad. Cute!!!
19/01/12: Yesterday Anke sent me some fantastic new photos of Lilly & TJ and their lovely dog friend Nino. They are look very close and happy. I always LOVE photos of cats and dogs snuggled up together. Lilly looks fatter in the face and much more grown up, but this is not a surprise as our little girl will be 2 in May, and her boyfriend TJ in February. The other sweet little cat is Amy who was one of 2 cats that Lilly and TJ’s family already had, before our twosome arrived last Xmas. Sweeet! Enjoy the photos.

05/07/11: The last time I heard from Lilly she and true-love TJ were slowly making friends with the lovely family dog Nino. Now it seems all three are part of a big love-in. Lilly always liked to have boyfriends around her, and it now appears that our little strumpet is happy to receive cuddles from cats and dogs alike. She truly is one of the most amazing kittens we have ever come across. She is a very strong little character, full of life, but also a very loving one. I am very happy for her that we were able to save her, that she met the handsome TJ, and that they have found such a perfect home! Nino looks pretty happy about his new friend too. Good for him!!!

03/04/11: Once again I have FANTASTIC new photos of these 2. Martina thinks they will be staring in the 2011 Katzenherzen calender!

I am really pleased these updates keep coming through from their new family, because Lilly in particular was so special to me, and TJ seems to have become such a great companion for her. If you haven’t already read their story, then you will be amazed by the transformation of little scrap Lilly from when I first met her. She continues to grow and flourish, and her naturally happy, cheeky personality shines though. TJ also looks great and VERY handsome.

Enjoy the photos. I particularly like the ones of Lilly with her new friend Nino the family dog, although it is pretty clear who her true love is!

10/02/11: The very latest news from Germany is that Lilly is beginning to make friends with the lovely dog, whilst TJ remains a little unsure if he really likes him! Each day is a little better.

26/01/11: This morning yet more beautiful photos of this lovable pair came through from Germany! They are looking very happy and relaxed in their new home.

There is only one slight problem. These 2 little terrors are beating up the lovely gentle family dog. NOT good behaviour as it sounds like they are upsetting him. Lilly for one seems to have no fear of anything and is probably the ring-leader, and TJ lived here with Matt and his 4 large labardors, so no surprise they see this poor animal as another play/fight mate. Lilly has already inflicted wounds on TJ and previous foster Mum Anke’s husband, so it may be time for her to take it down a tad! I think she is just so full of life right now and having SO much fun! She is a very lovable little witch!!! TJ has taken on a very feisty little female to spend his life with!!!

Lilly About to Play Again

25/01/11: On Sunday Lilly & TJ FINALLY arrived in their forever home. Their new Mum had been waiting for Lilly for almost 3 months, since she first saw photos of her as a tiny, starving little scrap.

As expected she loved her from the first, AND TJ who is a lovely, relaxed boy and a perfect companion for the more demanding but also very loving Lilly. Below are the first photos from their new home, which looks very cat friendly indeed!

AND latest news of Lilly herself is that she is about to be sterilised as she has recently been on heat, making her even more demanding of the ever tolerant TJ! At the same time she will have her sinuses washed out, as she continues to develop cold like symptoms. We are all hoping this will help her but are also accepting that Lilly may have been born with slightly compromised nasal passages, and may always sneeze a little. Lilly herself remains unconcerned by all of this, and enjoys life with her new best buddy TJ to the full. This is one plucky little cat with a huge personality and zest for life. I am SO SO glad that we were given the opportunity to help her and to meet her. She really is a joy!

09/01/11: Lilly, continues to be a little star. Everybody loves hers and she loves everybody, BUT it appears none more than TJ.

Lilly is still with foster Mum Anke, and was actually never meant to meet TJ, but fate intervened. Anke’s Mum’s cats hated TJ so he joined Lilly, and it was love at first sight. Despite still struggling with a bad cold and needing more antibiotics, Lilly couldn’t stop playing and cuddling with TJ, and I kept getting lovely photos of the 2 of them together. It seems that Lilly’s charm knows no bounds. The first night at Anke’s she slept all night on Anke’s chest sneezing and coughing and cuddling. Then the second evening after her visit to the vet, Anke’s husband Martin cuddled and sang to her for hours, and THEN along came TJ, who fell for her instantly.

Lilly is just such a joy, full of life and love, and I am sure her new family cannot wait to meet her. The only slight sadness I had was that, as she already had an adoptant, she was going to be split up from TJ, the new love of her life.

Lilly always liked to cuddle with the boy kittens at Erika’s, the little strumpet! and then one day the last of her boyfriends left for Germany without her, and she was left alone with only big girl Chibi for company.

First at Anke’s she cuddled with older Hannibal until her true love (a boy of her own age) turned up on the scene. Looking at these fantastic photos I couldn’t help commenting on what a shame it would be for them not to be together, and even started to think that even though her adoptant sounded SO lovely, maybe we SHOULD find them another home together.

I needn’t however have worried, because I wasn’t the only one looking at these photos and plotting. Martina, Anke and Lilly’s new Mum were thinking exactly the same as me, and Lilly’s new Dad was finally won over. He will have 2 new cats. A few days ago, the brilliant news came that TJ will go with Lilly to her new home, so that they can stay together! Anke says that only TJ can keep up with Lilly’s energy!

SO our very special kitten has not only found her own forever home, she has now helped to find one for TJ too! She has come so far from the sickly little scrap that was first rescued. She will never be a big cat, but she has a HUGE personality, and so much love in her little body. I wish her and TJ a VERY, VERY happy life together, and I want to say a big THANKYOU to everyone who has helped them. Lilly’s really is a FANTASTIC story.

23/12/10: Yesterday evening Lilly flew to Stuttgart with foster Mum Erika and little yorkie buddy Joey. They she was met by her new foster Mum Anke where she will spend Xmas.

Lilly’s new family also foster cats for another rescue organisation, and unfortunately 2 of them have bad colds, so Lilly must wait a little longer before going to her new home. We decided to send her to Germany in the warm cabin of the plane anyway, as Lilly LOVES people so much and Erika is away for Xmas.

News this morning is that Lilly slept cuddled up in bed with Anke, and despite continuing to sneeze a little seems happy and well. She really is a dream cat! Maybe it is because she was so sick and starving when she was rescued, that now she is just happy to be safe and loved. Lilly in return loves everybody … all cats, Joey the dog, all people … just everybody. She started off as a special case because she was SO tiny and had one very bad eye, but now she is special to us just because she is Lilly; everybody who meets her loves her from the first! I am happy for her that she is about to begin her new life, but Erika and I will miss her a lot!

Have a fantastic life Lilly … you deserve it!!!

Much Bigger Lilly

26/11/10: Lilly is still with us, so we will be able to enjoy her cuddles for a few more weeks! She didn’t travel on the transport today, because she is a very special kitten!

Lilly has recovered brilliantly from her eye surgery, and yesterday had her stitches removed. She does however have a slight cold, and after everything she has been through, we decided to take no risks, as the transport will be cold at this time of year.

Lilly will now travel to her new home via a flight to Stuttgart on December 22nd. She will be a fantastic Xmas present for her new family, who have loved her from first seeing her photos and have been patiently waiting for her to come to them. They agreed with our decision, as, although they are eager to meet her, they only want what is best for this little sweetie!

21/11/10: Lilly is one of the special ones, at first because of her sad story and problems, and now because she is such a little darling.

She was found here in Almerimar at the end of September, almost starving and Erika took her in. I thought she was about 2 months old, and both I and our vet Miguel were amazed when she turned out to be 5 months. This he could tell from her teeth. She was then the same size as the 2-month old kitten and weighed only 900g, and, although she has caught up a little, she will I think now always be a very small cat.

All we can think is that she survived on virtually no food for a long time, but this was not enough for her to grow properly. The early photos I took of her, showed her next to a 2-month old kitten, and then next to a kitten of 5 months, her actual age.

They also show how full of cold she was and that she had a very bad eye. This turned out to be a mal-formed eye, which she was never going to be able to see out of. Overall she was a very sad case.

The good news is that within a few weeks she had doubled her weight, had made friends with all the other foster kittens, learned to play, and become a normal, happy little kitten, unconcerned about her disability. The other good news is that within a week an adoptant had been found for this little scrap of a kitten.

Lilly will live with a lovely lady and her cats and family in Switzerland. This lady actually works for another cat rescue organisation, but fell for Lilly when she read her story. I have continued to send photos to her Mum to be, the latest one showing Lilly after her operation to remove her bad eye. This operation was paid for by donations from more kind people in Germany who wanted to help her. In fact several families wanted to adopt her.

Her new family can’t wait to meet her, and I know they will love her. She is one of the sweetest most friendy, affectionate little cats I have met, and she loves all cats and people. They fell for her because they felt so sorry for her, but I know when they meet her they will fall in love with her all over again, for herself. Lilly deserves all the love, and happiness she will get after her horrible start in life, and also because she is Lilly.

For now Lilly is very happy with us, but there is a chance she will travel to her new home on Friday, if she is well, and her new family can drive to meet the transport. I wish her all the best and will miss her cuddles when she goes!

MMakes me think I should just concentrate on cats! – which is where I started off! Beautiful cat and beautiful nature! Wish she could come and pass on some of her lovely traits to our five who seem to spend their time looking over their shoulders and fighting!
